Privacy Policy

ShortNerdCat ("we", "the service") is a VPN client and relay service. This policy describes what information we handle when you use our apps or website.

This is not an anonymizer

ShortNerdCat is built to give you a private, reliable connection — not to make you untraceable. We keep connection records so that if our service is used for illegal activity (for example, buying illegal goods or evading sanctions), we can identify the account responsible and act on it, including banning the account. If you're looking for a tool whose purpose is to make your activity untraceable to us, this isn't it.

Information we collect

• Subscription key. Sent to our servers to authenticate your session.
• Device identifier. A random identifier generated on your device, used to maintain your session with our servers. It is not linked to your name or email.
• Connection records. We keep logs of connection metadata (such as which destinations you connected to and when) for up to 90 days, used to operate and secure the service, investigate abuse reports, enforce our terms of service, and compile aggregate usage statistics to improve the service. We do not sell this data or use it for advertising.
• VK login (optional, WildCat mode only). If you enable WildCat mode and log into VK, that login happens directly with VK (vk.com); we receive only a short-lived access token used to operate that transport mode. We never see your VK password.

Information we do not collect

We do not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs in our apps. We do not access your contacts or location. Our iOS app requests camera access only to scan a QR code containing your subscription key; the camera feed is never stored or transmitted.

Data sharing

We do not sell or share your data with third parties for advertising. We may disclose connection records to law enforcement when legally required, or to investigate abuse of the service.

Your choices

You can disconnect the VPN or remove your subscription key from the app at any time.
